If you have had at least one child and you would like to find out about becoming a doula just email us at info@britishdoulas.co.uk or call us on 020 7244 6053 and we will tell you more about it, and we can advise you on filling out the application form below if you have any questions.

Doulas vary in age from early 20's to 60's or even 70's but they are all mothers themselves and have taken our training course. The course is run several times throughout the year and those who pass it are able to work as doulas through the agency. They are also able to work towards a City & Guilds Doula Profile of Achievement which also counts towards further education if you decide to train later on as a midwife, nurse, or health visitor.

British Doulas hold weekend four day training courses annually in London. The course has been compiled, and is trained, by professional midwives and family support specialists and you will receive a British Doulas certificate at the end of it.

Like the role of the doula, the shape of the course is organic and we improve and expand it each time we run it. We take our ideas from feedback from working doulas and from health professionals with whom we are in contact on a regular basis.

In 2008, the weekend doula training course will be offered on:

- 26th/27th January and 2nd/3rd February

- 17th/18th May and 24th/25th May

- 12th/13th July and 19th/20th July

- 1st/2nd November and 8th/9th November

If you are interested in taking the course, just fill in the form below and press 'Send'.
